Usability studies of database interfaces (PDF) (1/10/2006) This study surveys 801 librarians and 4212 users to get general feedback on user experience and includes usability results from 6 librarians and 19 users on specific database interfaces, with special focus on Science Direct as compared to other databases. Disclaimer: this study was commissioned by Elsevier, which owns Science Direct. My take on this? I don't think their interface is any easier to use, but I do find it attractive. My favorite feature is their Top 25 Hottest Articles in each subject area. |
