    Temporary Assistant Librarian: Part-time
    22.5 hours per week, during August 1 - November 30

    Overview

    The Temporary Assistant Librarian will maintain the museum's art research library for the period noted above. Responsible for processing new periodicals, shelving books, filing slides, maintaining the library exchange program, requesting interlibrary loans, and some copy cataloging. Assist museum staff and visiting researchers in utilizing this unique contemporary art library resource.

    Requirements
    • Enrolled in an MLIS program.
    • Past experience in a library is necessary.
    • Knowledge of contemporary art preferred.

    Essential Functions
    • Maintain the shelving order of books.
    • Process new periodicals, which includes entering enumeration in library's OPAC.
    • Maintain library exchange program with domestic and international organizations, which will include organizing the shipment of two catalogs to exchange partners.
    • Label and organize visual documentation consisting of slides and digital files of the museum's permanent collection and exhibitions.
    • Provide reference for museum staff and visitors.
    • Some copy cataloging of monographs and exhibition catalogs using
      RLIN21.
