Couple donates wedding gifts to library (5/17/2005) In lieu of a traditional wedding registry, Laura Offerdahl and Pat Harris created a wishlist of books, CDs, and DVDs to donate to the St. Paul Public Library. The list of 100+ items includes a CD boxed set commemorating the Minnesota Orchestra's Centennial ($195) and an audio version of the Bible ($3,914.40). "People are always surprised when they see how expensive things are that the library has to buy," says Peter Pearson, president of The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library. |
