Meeting Up with Fellow Librarians (9/14/2004) Meetup.com lists 41 librarian groups worldwide. It's a great idea for librarians who otherwise would not get to meet and exchange ideas with colleagues, but I prefer to select from the dozens of professional organizations that already exist. Most offer lots of opportunities to participate and charge fairly low fees in exchange for their publications and other services. |
