X-Patents Unearthed (8/10/2004) Fourteen lost patents were recently discovered at Dartmouth Library. Known at the X-patents, only 2,800 have been recovered since all 10,000 were destroyed in a 1836 fire while - ironically - a new fireproof building was being constructed to house them. |
