The Only Person Who Went to Business School to Become a Poet (3/08/2004) Dana Gioia served as vice president of marketing at General Foods and wrote two opera libretti, a couple of translations, and two anthologies of Italian poetry, among others, before becoming chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts in 2003.
